The kit contains a 70w heater wire which automatically turns on in cold weather when the air temperature falls below around +3cThe heater wire melts any ice which can form in the bottom of the heat pump to keep the drain holes unblocked and to prevent a build up of ice. It can be fitted to virtually any heat pump make or model.These kits are supplied by Thermotec for use on our pond heat pumps, but can be used in virtually any heat pump make or modelThis kit contains a low power electric heater element that sits in the bottom of the heat pump under the evaporator, the bit with the fins. It can be required when the heat pumps are going to be operated at very cold temperatures – below 0c, for example on koi ponds, or for indoor pools.This kit includes all parts necessary to install the kit so that any ice that forms in the drip tray of the heat pump is melted into water.The kit includes:70w heater element (running current is only 0.29A)Temperature controlled switch – turns the heater wire on when the air temp falls below around +3cAll necessary wiresInstallation instructionsThe temperature controlled switch automatically turns the heating element on in very cold weather and turns it off again when the temperature rises to provide a fully automatic system.
